World Genesis: From Thought to Creation

09-02-2026

Every world has a beginning, but in this world, creation was not an accident of nature. It was an unfolding of divine will, born from the void and shaped by sacrifice. This is the foundation of the Mythic Dark High Fantasy world where Akrysmir's journey begins.

The First Thought

In the beginning, Thought came first, and then necessity. Creation began with Alunaris—God—neither good nor evil, neither male nor female; only love and the power to create.

The first world was the Realm of Alunaris, a place encircled by stars and moons. Then Alunaris formed the World (Earth): an endless ocean, and within it no living thing.

The Great Serpent-Dragon

The first creature was Meanderin, a serpent-dragon so vast that she lay across most of the sea. From her will came the birth of the four elemental gods:

  • Azuri: Meanderin brought forth the Goddess of Water.

  • Sashshi: After her came her sister, with one breath of fire—the Goddess of Fire.

The Ultimate Sacrifice

Then came the moment that changed everything. Meanderin sacrificed her body, and from her flesh and bone, the earth was made.

Thus was born Malakitarn, God of Earth, appointed to rule the Land. And with Meanderin's final breath, life was given to Titantas, God of Air, who was to carry life into the world.

The First Beings

The four elemental gods desired to create the first beings in the image of their mother. Thus, from the elements and the memory of Meanderin, they made Dragons.

"From the vastness of the sea to the peaks of the Meanderin's Ridge, every grain of sand and every breath of wind carries the echo of Meanderin's sacrifice."

Geological Note from the Creator: As a geologist, I find the concept of Meanderin's sacrifice particularly compelling. The idea of a biological entity's "flesh and bone" becoming the lithosphere (the earth's crust) mirrors how organic matter and mineral structures have shaped our own planet over eons. In the World of Akrysmir, the ground beneath Akrysmir's feet is literally the remains of the first creator, making the very soil sacred and ancient.

The Name Meanderin is derived from the geological term meander—the winding, serpentine curves of a river flowing through a landscape. It is no coincidence that the first creature was a serpent-dragon; her very form mirrors the natural flow of water and the erosion of the earth. When she sacrificed her body to create the world, her winding shape became the ridges and valleys of the land. Geography is not random; it is the frozen movement of the Great Serpent.
